Granite climbing at the best crag in the universe

INDEX ROCK CLIMBING

Climb with me at my favorite crag!!!

I love everything about Index — the splitter finger cracks with lizards living inside them, the cryptic friction sequences that feel impossible until a crisp day in November, the post-climb dips in the Skykomish, and even the train whose whistle splits your eardrums right when you want to yell, “Taaaaake!”

I’ve been enjoying the splitters and slabs of the Index Town Walls for over a decade, and I’m lucky enough to call the Skykomish Valley home during the summer. I love sharing the area with new folks, and I’m available select weekends and most weekdays for private guiding and instruction from about mid-May through mid-September.

But here’s the thing — the best time to climb during the summer is after 4pm on a weekday (empty walls + good temps), so that’s the only time I run group programs there. See below for more info!

    Index Weeknight Climbing Series

I’ve teamed up with my friends at The Climbing School to offer a summer-long trad and crack climbing series in Index! Join us every other week after work for six sessions throughout the summer to build confidence with trad gear placement, crack climbing, and other granite climbing techniques. This program is for women (cis and trans) and non-binary folks who are comfortable in spaces led by women.

    Climbing Courses

Index is a great place to learn trad leading, crack technique, self-rescue, multi-pitch skills and more! If you can’t join us for the whole summer series, I’m available throughout the summer on a private basis to teach a range of technical and movement skills. Private instruction and courses are available for all genders! Weekdays are recommended, but I’m available on select weekends for small group instruction.

    Private Guiding

Index is my absolute favorite place to climb, and I’m always stoked to introduce people to the amazing granite climbing here. I’m available for single pitch and multi-pitch guiding throughout the summer for small groups. In order to have the best experience possible, I recommend that people are comfortable climbing at least 5.7 outdoors or 5.9-5.10 indoors. Reach out for more information or to plan a custom day!
